My first “adoption”

I concluded my week in Albuquerque NM with my first “adoption”. Adoption for my purposes is the same as a booking, meaning I was invited to a strangers house for a performance and was paid with a meal, and a couch. Monday night I was welcomed into the house of Barbie and Bianca. They came to one of the shows earlier in the week and dug it enough to have me over. They invited their friend Derek and we got our grub on…

(you may notice the motorcycle helmets on the table, yep biker chicks!)

(SHRIMP FAJITAS, DAMN! Not a bad meal for a homeless dude)

We had dinner and got the show underway in their living room.

1st home show

Bianca decided to invite the neighbors over for the show. The audience went from 5 (counting the dogs) to 9 (still counting the dogs).

This is still a learning experience for me. Have you ever tried to do a show in someone’s living room? Exactly…! Lets just say I wasn’t on my “A” game. The 4 neighbors didn’t have any idea what was goin on. Needless to say I didn’t win any new fans. Except Andy, he was drunk and feeling generous. “I will gladly take your 5 bucks drunky. (Why do I feel like a whore?)”

I wasn't expecting $$
(so much for authenticity. Andy is obviously posing but had the camera been ready in the moment it would have captured his genuine drunken generosity)

This next picture is only worth the few words I typed in (much less than 1,000). But even if I didn’t just say that, by observing the body language you can tell who is into it and who isn’t.

tough crowd

Thad was a shithead. A nice shithead though. The set pretty much ended with me asking him why his arms were crossed and he said “I’m just waiting for you to be funny! I admire your courage. It takes balls to get in front of people and say stuff, but I don’t think you’re funny. You want me to be honest? There, I’m being honest.”

Thank you for your honest feedback Thadikins! I learned a few things from your honesty. 1.) you can’t please everybody. 2.) people with gray hair are not my target demographic. 3.) even though Thad didn’t like my comedy he did admire my balls!

Barbie, Bianca, & Brian

was there any forced sex? I feel like some people are going to take you in and expect sex. Have you already set in place a sex policy?

  2. homeless one  Says:

my mom is worried about that too. she is more worried about forced sex with men. she says all men are pigs no matter how nicely their houses are decorated.

  3. casey  Says:

so is that a no on the policy already being in place

  4. homeless one  Says:

oh yeah, the policy… so it goes like this… if you take me in and expect sex you will be disappointed if you are man-gay, ugly or infected. However, if you are hott and I can see a doctors note you will have to choose between comedy show or sex. Either way it will make you laugh and feel empty inside.
