I want thank you for sticking with me on this. As many of you have told me, I am crazy for doing this. I’m beginning to think it’s true… Sorry I am a little slow at getting stuff together to post, as you will see with this one today that I am a shitty editor also. I have amazing stuff coming down the road but as I am out collecting it, I don’t leave myself much time to write and edit, well, cut and paste… etc. Which is why I have cooped myself up today in my boy Josh’s apartment even though I am in New York City and still haven’t seen the Statue of Liberty. I am writing to you my fair few but loyal readers, whom are mostly just friends of mine wondering how long I will be able to keep this up for.

This post is a long one… you may have to take it in doses. Watch the video(s) at your leisure, they’re crazy! Not to mention the first one is in 2 parts because it is almost 20 minutes long and it is very hard to see due to the fact that it was filmed at night with a digital camera. Come to think of it I’m not even sure why I posted it, oh yeah BECAUSE I CAN! I’m not telling you this so you can skip it and think it’s OK because you don’t have that kind of time. It’s like my video diary or something. It is crucial for me that you understand how crazy stupid I am for thinking this was a good idea! So here goes… I started writing this a while ago… let’s travel back in time…

Tucson, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, Tulsa, OK, Norman, OK, Columbia, MO, Bloomington, IL. What do all of these places have in common? i have been to them all in the past couple of months AND they are all college towns, they are not big metropolitan areas. Well let’s just put it this way, if it wasn’t for the presence of the university in each of the respective towns they wouldn’t have much in the way of artistic culture. I’m not putting these towns down but generally they are small towns and kinda hick-ish. For example, if Tucson didn’t have the U of A there wouldn’t be much cultural diversity outside of cowboys and Mexicans. I love Tucson, I came up there (kinda). I wise man once said, about Tucson, “Well it’s not a very diverse place, if you’re not Mexican or Native American, you’re, well… sober.” What I’m saying is that these place are great for many reasons. Full of young people/college students, excited, creative, ambitious, most of them. Lot’s of hot chicks… They usually have great little artsy fartsy hippie communities. I’ve found them to be good audiences for comedy. They will at times let you get away with some of the weirdest shit.

For example, at the beginning of October I traveled through Norman, Oklahoma home of Oklahoma State University. Not much going on in Norman, or Oklahoma for that matter. Well, I did meet Lincoln but…

I met Jonathan on couchsurfing.com. A fellow actor, a theatre student at OU and a heck of a nice guy. We met at a coffee shop in Norman, near the campus, called Cafe Plaid. Every town has a coffee shop where the hipsters hang and this was it. We met up and decided that neither one was a total freak and that a street show that night would be better than a home show, a great idea! And it was, kinda… I don’t care what anyone says about this crazy little town, in my opinion, NORMAN, YOU ARE OK!

Part 1

Part 2

I hope this post gives you more of an idea of the type of weird, crazy shit I have been experiencing. I may be crazy but life is a lot more fun that way. Living one day to the next when you don’t know what’s going to happen.

The next stop on my college town comedy tour was Bloomington, IL. Home of Illinois State University. Well actually the university is in a smaller town outside of Bloomington called Normal, IL. I know, it should be a joke but its not. Those that live there call it the BloNo short for Bloomington/Normal because it’s like a city inside of a city because of the university which doesn’t make any sense really… which is pretty normal actually. This time I was staying on the couch of a friend and not a stranger. My friend Katie had to put up with me for a few days and she didn’t even make me do a show. I saved it for a guest spot at Bloomington’s comedy club The Funnybone.

They really were a good crowd. As I came off stage the owner told me that he will book me and to call the club to set up a date. Thats why I’m out here! Am I the only one that thinks it is weird that the names of the two college towns I stop in back to back (Norman/Normal) are only 1 letter apart, and the letters that make them different words are right next to each other in the alphabet?!? OK, yeah, you’re probably right… I am going a little crazy!

Stay tuned for more (whatever you want to call it from) from yours truly, the Homeless Comic…

You seem busy. Plus you’ll have tons of stories to tell your kids…when you finally decide to kidnap one.

Hey Brian. Juzbobi says go to Gotham in NYC, ask for a tall curly-haired jewish lookin guy named Eric Holmes. He’s the other Pea from my mother-pod. He’s a good guy. Maybe he can hook you up. He’s a playwright and does stand-up when he can.

I think it’s a little weird that the 2 the two peas from the mother pod are both named Eric. Tell Juzbobi I said hi and that I hope things pick up in the sweat shop this holiday season.
