The Manifest-oh!
So I’ve been thinkin… I know, right? Most of this thinking has been done on my aunt’s couch in Seattle where I ended up dead broke and carless. This is how real homelessness starts! If my family wasn’t so tolerant I would be completely F-U-C-K-E-D-E-D! Good thing I come from a long line of alcoholic fuck ups, I get away with more, I can squat at my aunts house jobless and penniless and they put up with me because “well at least he’s not…” I don’t need to spell it out for ya, lets just say things could be worse
So, my little experiment brings me back home… It’s so weird… fortunately for me Seattle has A LOT of homeless people. In fact I recently came across this organization you should check out The Urban Rest Stop I will be volunteering there once or twice a week. They do incredible work! I attended a fundraiser for them put on by a group called Noise for the Needy. I saw Talib Kweli perform with my boys group Grayskul, I will be opening up for them in Seattle and Portland in August. I’m about to be the Homeless Hip Hop Comic…
I do have a point. I think I have been experimenting with this long enough, it is time to start creating! I have the WHAT I will create but still NEED the HOW. (I’m open to suggestions)
I rewrote my intro page to reflect my new COPYRITTEN ideas. This is where I am intending Homeless Comedy to go.
I WILL create a comedy tour living and traveling out of a Honda Element called “The Comic Element Tour”. Ideally I would want this to be sponsored by Honda in terms of providing the Element and I’ll provide the Comic plus LOTS of advertising!
It will be a cross country tour playing conceivably any venue possible. The tag line could be “Where’s the Comic Element in your life?” or something along those lines since one of the goals of the concept is to get people thinking and using laughter to help bring people together around shitty life issues. Another goal is to raise money and donate any proceeds to benefit worthy causes.
I WILL film a documentary around the first Comic Element Tour.
I WILL create a company that takes the previous concept a bit further and specializes in producing fund raising events and use comedy specifically for that purpose. “Stand Up for Something” uses stand up comedy for social change. I see it as “Bad Comedy for a Good Cause” and not bad like shitty, bad like you can’t say that on television edgy yet profound Stanhope type of bad.
So there I said it, I know what I want, you know what I want… now how do I get it? Well in the spirit of this little experiment of mine I’m just gonna keep goin where life takes me until I end up where I want to be, dead or living the life I love created by myself for myself! Ok maybe thats a little dramatic but you get the point. I probably won’t be able to do it completely alone. Who knows, this could take years but creating the life I want to live is worth the risk!
I am ending this with a feel good slideshow I made to help me affirm the life I will live and risk looking very gay doing it… ENJOY!
