GAME OVER!
So this is how it ends… At least this part of the journey. This morning the Costa Mesa PD towed my car off the street for having expired tags.
Part of my experience as the Homeless Comic has been learning to live mostly in poverty. I made survival money but thats about it so when it came time to face the $600 ticket from 10 years ago that I didn’t know I had a choice to make, put my life on hold to pay a ticket I thought I took care of a decade ago or, risk the ramifications and keep moving. I kept moving… but not without a fight. I pleaded with the AZ traffic court to work a deal or a payment plan and there was no leeway, so of course I said FUCK YOU and in turn fucked myself, hilarioiusly
It is going to cost me more than the car is worth and 3 times as much $$ as I have to get it squared away. Even more shitty than that is I have recently acquired 2 parking tickets in LA with the same care with the same expired tags and they did not see it fit to to impound my car BUT on a Sunday my car is parked legally on a side street and the Costa Mesa PD didn’t have anything better to do. My point is Costa Mesa needs more crime!!!
I’ve learned to part with “stuff” so I can let it go and have another city just “put it on my tab”. The irony is that I was in the process of ending this experiment, on my way to getting back into “real life” tomorrow. I was heading out to work a job and build up to getting an apartment. This is what I love about life, just when things are starting to make sense like “I know what to do next…” the rug can get pulled out from under you and dramatically change the direction you were so sure was the right one, or not… The only thing that really made this whole experiment work is that I could travel. The only question is NOW WHAT?
Guess when I figure it out I’ll let you know… any suggestions?
